Dr. Robert Plant’s is an associate professor and the chair of the Department of Business Technology at the Miami Herbert Business School and director of the Intelligent Computer Systems Research Institute. Dr. Plant’s current research focuses on labor economics and the ways in which AI technology is impacting the workforce.
Dr. Plant has written for The World Today, a publication by the renowned think tank Chatham House, as well as the China People’s Daily and Financial Times. Additionally, he is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal online in its Leadership Expert section, Forbes, NPR, the New York Times, Time Magazine, and Money Talk Radio. Dr. Plant is also a recognized authority on technology issues and frequently writes for the Harvard Business Review.
Dr. Plant earned his PhD in computer science, specializing in artificial intelligence, from the University of Liverpool in England. Prior to this, he pursued his studies in computation at Wadham College, Oxford University.
Has held visiting teaching and research positions at Templeton College, Oxford University, England; Universidad Gabriela Mistral, Santiago, Chile; and Wuhan University, P.R. China.
